The Sawyerville, Alabama, community is mourning the death of Willie P. Bryant, 60, who was killed Wednesday night in a two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on Alabama 69 in Tuscaloosa County.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the fatal crash occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, near mile marker 137, approximately four miles south of the Tuscaloosa city limits.

Bryant was operating a 2004 Honda VTX1300C motorcycle when it was involved in a collision with an SUV. The impact caused Bryant to be thrown from the motorcycle, resulting in fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The SUV driver was also injured and transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa for treatment. A 14-year-old passenger in the SUV was also injured and taken to a local hospital. Authorities have not released further information about their conditions.
